In its latest bid to expand Wi-Fi coverage, Mitsubishi Estate Co. on July 1 started offering free Internet service in the Landmark Tower complex in Yokohama.
“Japan Free Wi-Fi” is available in the Landmark Plaza building and the Dockyard Garden outside the building.
In collaboration with NTT Broadband Platform Inc., Mitsubishi Estate has also provided the Japan Free Wi-Fi service in Tokyo’s Otemachi, Marunouchi, and Yurakucho areas, as well as the Sunshine City commercial complex in the Ikebukuro district.
To access Japan Free Wi-Fi, users should look for the SSID “JAPAN-FREE-WIFI” in the Wi-Fi connection parameters of their Wi-Fi capable electronic devices. After connecting and opening the browser, users will be directed to a log-in page where they can enter their name and e-mail address to sign up. If users return to Japan, they simply need to tap once on Japan Free Wi-Fi with the same device to log in and connect again.
The service access page supports four languages–English, Chinese, Korean and Japanese.
